NPSP leading the way in financial reporting
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters was this week awarded a Bronze Award at the 2017 Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA), for the Council’s 2015-2016 Annual Report.
The Award was presented to Mayor Robert Bria on behalf of the Council at the ARA Awards Presentation Dinner held in Melbourne on Wednesday 21 June 2017.
“Transparent communication with our citizens and stakeholders is of paramount importance to the Council,” said Mayor Robert Bria.
“We’re thrilled to have been recognised for the new standard we have achieved through our annual reporting and aim to continue further developing this in the future.”
Feedback from previous entries was used to improve the reported information in the Annual Report and refine its presentation.
“The Awards provide an opportunity for all organisations which produce an annual report to benchmark their publication against the ARA criteria which is based on world best practice.”
“The Council’s 2015-2016 Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of the highlights, activities and achievements, whilst complying with the legislative requirements of the Local Government Act 1999.”
The Australasian Reporting Awards have been presented annually since 1950 and acknowledge excellence in preparing annual reports to improve the standard of financial reporting and communicating with stakeholders in Australia.
The awards are administered by the Australasian Reporting Awards Limited, an independent not for profit organisation run by volunteer professionals from the business, government and not-for-profit sectors.
