Annual business planning underway
At its meeting on Monday 15 January 2018, the Council endorsed the commencement of the annual planning and budget process associated with the preparation of the 2018-2019 Annual Business Plan and Budget.
Pursuant to Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1999, the Council is required to prepare an Annual Business Plan and Budget.
Mayor Robert Bria said the development of an Annual Business Plan is a crucial part of the budget process.
“The Annual Business Plan provides our community with a statement of the intended services, programs, facilities and objectives set by the Council for the 2018-2019 financial year, and is based upon the strategies and objectives outlined in the Council’s strategic management plan, CityPlan 2030.”
The 2018-2019 Annual Business Plan and Budget will be adopted following public consultation and after 31 May 2018.
"Importantly, public consultation provides ratepayers and residents the opportunity to comment on the Council’s proposed program of services and infrastructure for the coming year,” said Mayor Bria.
“I encourage all ratepayers and residents to consider how their rates are spent by engaging in the upcoming public consultation process and make their views known to their Elected Member.”
