Social Programs
The Council runs a number of Social Support Programs which provide great opportunities for building confidence and forming new friendships.
Programs available include:

> The Payneham City Concert Band - Community Concerts
The Community Lunch Program provides a nutritious, freshly prepared two course meal which includes a bottom-less cup of tea and coffee. Come along, meet new people and have a chat, the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. A fun game of bingo is played first followed by lunch served at 12.15pm. Community Lunch is held at the Payneham Community Centre, cnr Arthur street and Payneham Road, Payneham on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month for residents of Norwood Payneham & St Peters. Tuesday Excursions
The Tuesday Excursions offer half day trips to places of interest within Adelaide and surrounding districts which includes a break for lunch. Excursions are held on selected Tuesdays throughout the year and a door to door pickup is provided for residents participating in the program. Places are limited due to high demand. Cost: $6.50, lunch at own expense.
The 3R's is a collaborative partnership between the City Of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, City of Burnside and City of Campbelltown. The program provides Respite, Recreation and Revitalisation for both the carer and person needing support. The program aims to assist people in the community who are over 65years of age, socially isolated or experiencing memory loss.
Venue: Payneham Community Centre, 374 Payneham Road Payneham.

Gentle Exercises and Relaxation
A qualified Fitness Instructor provides a structured program of gentle exercise and relaxation. Techniques include: hand weights for bone density and muscle tone; dancing for cardiovascular benefit and exercises for flexibility. Payneham Community Centre, cnr Arthur street and Payneham Road, Payneham. Thursday 10am - 11.30 followed by morning tea. Cost $5.00 includes morning tea. Contact Community Care Services 8366 4595.
The Payneham City Concert Band - Community Concerts
The Payneham City Concert Band and many guest artists provide a free afternoon of music and entertainment several times a year. The Concerts are held at the Payneham Youth Centre Turner Street, Felixstow. Entry: Donation for the Band greatly appreciated; Tea/Coffee available for purchase . Transport is available for eligible residents via the Council's Community Bus service.
