Draft Access & Inclusion Strategy

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters has developed a draft Access & Inclusion Strategy. The Strategy sets out Council’s commitment to advancing the City as a welcoming, accessible and inclusive place for all citizens.

About the Strategy

The Strategy sets out goals and actions the Council will be working towards over 2018 – 2021 that will enable the Council to provide services, support, facilities and information that are not only accessible but genuinely inclusive for all citizens.


Strategy Priorities

The Strategy has five main Priorities for the Council to focus on; each one contains the Goals, Outcomes and associated Council Actions which are to be undertaken. The Priorities are listed in the table below.



1. Culture Creating a culture of awareness, respect and support for citizens of all ages, abilities and backgrounds within the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and the wider community.
2. Accessible Environments Identifying and improving access issues relating to physical access, services, and sight and hearing impairments.
3. Information and Awareness Increasing the community’s awareness of support and lifestyle opportunities for citizens of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
4. Living and Lifestyle Facilitating and supporting initiatives that enhance the lifestyle, health and safety for all citizens.
5. Partnerships Develop and strengthen connections and partnerships with other bodies, including State Government, other Local Government Authorities in the region and community groups in support of improving access and inclusion for all citizens.

What happens next

All feedback received will be collated and summarised for consideration by the Council. This feedback will assist with finalising the Draft Access & Inclusion Strategy in preparation for final adoption by the Council.
