25 September 2013
The Council is currently proposing changes to the planning policies which apply throughout all residential zones across the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters.
Consultation and review
A draft Residential Development (Zones and Policy Areas) Development Plan Amendment was placed on public consultation from 15 November 2012 to 1 March 2013.
During this period 276 public submissions were received commenting on the draft policies. The Council is now reviewing all of the public and government agency submissions, to further revise the proposed policy directions and to complete the Development Plan Amendment process.
On Monday 23 September a Public Information Session was held in the Norwood Concert Hall to discuss the key issues arising from the public submissions and policy options to deal with the issues that have been raised.

The Strategic Planning and Development Policy Committee met on Monday 14 October at 7.00pm in the Norwood Concert Hall, to consider recommended options for proceeding with the Residential (Zones and Policy Areas) Development Plan Amendment. This was a public meeting and all were welcome to attend.
On 14 October 2013 the Strategic Planning and Development Policy Committee resolved to amend the draft Residential Development (Zones and Policy Areas) Development Plan Amendment to address many of the issues that had been raised during the public consultation period in late 2012 to early 2013.
The Committee also resolved:
That following the meeting of the Strategic Planning and Development Policy Committee meeting scheduled for 9 December 2013 the proposed changes to the Development Plan be released for public consultation for a period of four (4) weeks beginning in early February 2014, and that all property owners affected by the proposed changes to the Development Plan be advised in writing of the specific changes to the zoning of their properties.
The Report considered by the Committee and the Minutes of the meeting can be downloaded from the Committee Agenda and Minutes page.
The further process of consultation agreed to by the Committee will involve wide spread notification, including all affected property owners, which will provide the public with a further opportunity to make comment on the redrafted policy document.
