Follow the Garage Sale Trail in October!
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is encouraging the community to think differently about waste and participate in the Garage Sale Trail, a nationwide community and sustainability event.
The Garage Sale Trail is one big weekend of garage sales, happening in communities across Australia on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 October 2017.
The event aims to get the community thinking about the waste they generate and how some of it can be reused.
Mayor Robert Bria said that the Council was committed to educating the community about waste and providing waste and recycling initiatives to ultimately reduce waste sent to landfill.
“Waste is a growing issue across the nation and while recycling is one solution, reusing items you no longer want is even better.”
“We hope that the Garage Sale Trail will get the community thinking about how they might reuse or repurpose unwanted items before sending them to landfill.”
Last year’s Garage Sale Trail saw 2 million items listed for sale across the nation at over 15,000 registered garage sales and stalls.
The Garage Sale Trail is happening in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and across the country on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 October 2017.
