This position plays an integral part delivering quality library programs & services for the families and young people in our community and is ideal for a creative and organised individual with confident program delivery skills.
The Role
Working closely with the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters citizens, the Coordinator, Children’s & Youth Services, is responsible for creating a meaningful program of events and activities that promote literacy skills and lifelong learning for young people in our community.
This involves organising the infant, child and youth programs and services offered across our three (3) library sites and online. This position also works with the Library Services & Lifelong Learning Unit to develop a sought-after library collection and create engaging library spaces for our community’s children, families and young people to enjoy.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be enthusiastic and passionate about literacy and lifelong learning, enjoy engaging proactively with the community and will possess the following skills and experience.
• Demonstrated experience in working in a public library programs role (essential)
• Excellent communication and service skills
• Innovative and creative ideas to encourage community participation in library activities
• A love of literature for children and young adults
• Working knowledge of library management systems and online resources
• Excellent organisation skills
This position is offered part-time (0.75 FTE) and is based at Payneham Library.
