Annual Salary of $65,500 - $67,000 + Statutory Superannuation and Income Protection (Illness, Accident & Journey).

Apply your mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills undertaking servicing and repairs associated with Council’s vehicles, machinery, plant and equipment.


The Role
The Council owns multiple small plant, equipment and vehicles associated with horticultural and civil work, including chainsaws, hedge trimmers, brush cutters, pole saws, back hoes, skid steers, hydro-ladder and mowers.

The Mechanic is a hands-on position responsible for planning and undertaking the daily maintenance, preventative servicing and repair activities of the Council’s small plant and machinery, as well as the daily maintenance and minor repairs of some of the Council’s fleet.


About You
To be successful in this role you will be a pro-active team player who takes pride in the work you do and possess the following skills and experience:
• Trade Certificate in Motor Mechanics with diesel and hydraulic certification (Desirable)
• Trade Certificate in light welding and steel fabrication (Desirable)
• Current Light Truck Drivers Licence (MR minimum) (Essential)
• Demonstrated skills in all aspects of workshop and mechanical practices
• Broad experience in the operation of machinery, plant and equipment, hand and power tools
• Well-developed technical problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management, organisational and reporting skills
• Excellent communication and service skills
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
