About The Skill Sessions

The Skill Sessions have something for everyone.

Available to young people aged 10 to 18 who live, work or study within the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters. Open your mind to new possibilities and get involved!

Painting course will run over two days

Get creative with the beautiful medium of oil paint these school holidays! Draw inspiration from the unique world around us from flora to fauna and the incredible Australian landscape.

South Australian artist and Adelaide Central School of Art Graduate Ellie Noir will take you through multiple oil painting techniques and exercises to create a number of sketches and a final painting.

Workshops are held on Saturday 10 and 24 April from 10am - 12 pm. Participants are expected to attend both days.

GooRoo's Lego Animation workshop teaches kids how to create their very own "Brick Films".

The participants will get a behind the scenes glimpse of what goes into producing animation on a professional level. They will then learn how to bring Lego to life using the app Stop Motion Studio. The finished videos will be screened to the group and uploaded to YouTube via the GooRoo Animation Workshops channel to be shared with friends and family.

All Lego is provided but kids are also welcome to bring in their favourite sets to work with.

Come along to our bees wax wrap making workshop and be amazed by just how easy it is to make your own sustainable food wraps.

Learn how to make your own natural skincare products! Ever been confused about which skincare is right for you? With so many choices it can be hard to sift through the information and be confident you are giving your skin the best care.

We provide you with unbiased information on how to care for your skin, naturally and at an affordable price.

You will have fun making a product, in the workshop, which you will take home to use. You will also learn a simple 3 minute technique, to do once a day, from which you will see a difference in your skin.

Join Danielle from Ahimsa Health on a journey into self-awareness and healthy movement.

Hands on workshop: how to get into electronics safely. From powering LED lights to building a circuit.

Simple to challenging. We will do soldering, basic circuits, interactive sensors, movement triggering music files... And this workshop will give you the tools and notes to do cool stuff at home.

Tony Hannan is a multi artform artist who has used and adapted electronics for performing robots, and interactive sound and light installations.

Join in on our accredited ‘Provide Emergency First Aid’ - HLTAID002 course.

The course will covers the basics such as CPR, wounds and bleeding, asthma and anaphylaxis as well as other medical emergencies.

Learn some basic macramé knots, then have fun using them to create a quirky owl wall hanging.

All materials provided. Parents interested in joining in are welcome to come along too! Children under 12 will require a parent or guardian to assist them throughout the workshop.
