Youth FM is a radio training program that leaves participants with a toolbox of skills to launch them into the workforce.
This unique program is a joint initiative of the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, City of Burnside, City of Campbelltown, City of Prospect and Town of Walkerville, and is run in conjunction with Three D Radio.
Hands-on learning, radio broadcasting, interviewing and producing
Youth FM training leads to an opportunity to become a member of the Youth FM team to produce features for radio on an ongoing basis in a supportive team environment.
Youth FM training covers:
- Youth FM overview
- broadcast law
- technical skills
- outside broadcasting.
How to get involved
Recruitment for Youth FM occurs twice a year in April and October.
Applications are open to people aged 15 - 25 years who live, work or study in Adelaide’s eastern suburbs.
You wil need to attend two training sessions, which will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to join the Youth FM team.

Meet a Youth FM Radio graduate
Bayley Broome-Peake, completed the Youth FM Program while in Year 10 and went on to become a mentor at Youth FM.
Bayley believes the Program played a significant role in developing her confidence to pursue a career in the film industry.
