YouthFM is a radio training program that leaves participants with a toolbox of skills to launch them into the workforce.
This unique program is a joint initiative of the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, City of Burnside, City of Campbelltown, City of Prospect and Town of Walkerville, and is run in conjunction with Three D Radio.
Hands-on learning, radio broadcasting, interviewing and producing
YouthFM training leads to an opportunity to become a member of the YouthFM team to produce features for radio on an ongoing basis in a supportive team environment.
YouthFM training covers:
- YouthFM overview
- broadcast law
- technical skills
- outside broadcasting.
How to get involved
Recruitment for YouthFM occurs twice a year in April and October.
You wil need to attend two training sessions, which will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to join the Youth FM team.
To be eligible for YouthFM you must live, work or study in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters or in the City of Burnside, City of Campbelltown, City of Prospect and Town of Walkerville.

Meet a Youth FM Radio graduate
Bayley Broome-Peake, completed the Youth FM Program while in Year 10 and went on to become a mentor at YouthFM.
Bayley believes the Program played a significant role in developing her confidence to pursue a career in the film industry.
