The Burchell Reserve Upgrade will establish a contemporary park setting, ensuring that residents and the wider community have great recreation facilities well into the future. Anticipated benefits of this project include:

  • high quality and well-maintained open space and recreation facilities
  • increased community participation in recreation activities
  • improved public accessibility and safety
  • reduced flood risks for City residents.

Project details

The Burchell Reserve Upgrade includes:

  • a multi-purpose court featuring two community tennis courts, basketball and netball rings
  • new toilets, shelter, barbeque and picnic facilities
  • new play equipment, furniture, lighting and fencing
  • ramp access to and from Sixth Avenue and internal paths
  • new landscaping and irrigation
  • on-site stormwater detention, cleaning and reuse.
