Services and facilities that are open

Kerbside waste truckNorwood Town Hall Customer Service

Even if you aren't showing symptoms, we ask that you do not visit the Norwood Town Hall in person unless essential. This will help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 to our staff and community.

Norwood Town Hall offices will remain open at this stage, subject to any further lockdown measures.


Essential services

The following essential services will continue as normal:

  • street sweeping
  • field services


Non-essential and volunteer services

All non-essential and volunteer programs have resumed with the exception of the following:


The Council re-opened its Libraries on Friday 15 May.

Our priority is to ensure that the Council’s three Libraries provide a safe environment for visitors in accordance with Federal and State Government restrictions.

Click, call and collect service

Our Libraries provide a Click, Call and Collect service for members of the community who are sick or self-isolating due to health reasons.

Visit our Catalogue or download the Libraries App to access items such as eBooks and eAudiobooks, newspapers and magazines, online learning and more.


The following library activities have resumed.

  • Baby Bounce
  • Story Time
  • Knit & Stitch


Playgrounds and outdoor exercise equipment

The Council’s playgrounds re-opened between Wednesday 6 May and Friday 8 May, with popular playgrounds among the first to be opened.

Outdoor gym / exercise equipment has been re-opened.

Drinking fountains and outdoor barbecues are now available for public use.


Norwood Concert Hall and Don Pyatt Hall

Norwood Concert Hall and Don Pyatt Hall have re-opened for hire.


Community facilities

The following facilities have reopened for hire:

  • St Peters Youth Centre
  • St Peters Banquet Hall
  • Payneham Community Centre


Citizenship Ceremonies

Due to COVID-19 restrictions it is not possible for our traditional citizenship ceremonies to be held. Instead private ceremonies are being arranged by Council staff with direction from the Department of Home Affairs.

Council events and exhibitions

Council events and exhibitions have been temporarily suspended with the intent of rescheduling some of these when and if possible.

This will be reviewed on a regular basis.

Temporarily suspended.
