Even if you aren't showing symptoms, we ask that you do not visit the Norwood Town Hall in person unless essential. This will help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 to our staff and community.

Libraries

Re-opening on Friday 15 May

The Council is working towards re-opening Libraries on Friday 15 May.

Our priority is to ensure that the Council’s three Libraries are prepared and equipped to provide a safe environment for visitors in accordance with Federal and State Government restrictions.

We can’t wait to reconnect with our community and welcome customers back to our Libraries. However, once open, please be mindful that your Libraries will look a little different for the time being.

Click, call and collect service

From Friday 24 April, the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters Libraries will offer a Click/Call and Collect service.

Customers will be able to reserve library items by phone, via the Library catalogue or by using the free Libraries SA app.

The Council’s three libraries at Norwood, Payneham and St Peters—which closed on 25 March—will accommodate collections of reserved library items only via designated collection points at the entrance of each library.

Access the library collection online for free

Though the libraries will remain closed for the interim, library card holders can still access loads of reads and learning resources online.

Visit our Catalogue or download the Libraries App to access items such as eBooks and eAudiobooks, newspapers and magazines, online learning and more.

 

Playgrounds and outdoor exercise equipment

The Council’s playgrounds will open progressively from Wednesday 6 May until Friday 8 May, with popular playgrounds among the first to be opened.

Citizenship Ceremonies

Due to COVID-19 conditions it is not possible for traditional, in-person citizenship ceremonies to be held.

The Federal Government is trialling one-on-one citizenship ceremonies via a secure video link for those already approved for Australian Citizenship, with alternative arrangements to be made for those who can not access the internet.

Services and facilities that are temporarily suspended

Dunstone Grove PlaygroundNon-essential community and Volunteer services

All non-essential community and Volunteer services have ceased, with the exception of the Home Support Shopping Program and Justice of the Peace, which will continue at this stage

The following facilities are closed in accordance with Federal Government guidelines regarding indoor public gatherings:

  • Norwood Concert Hall
  • Don Pyatt Hall
  • St Peters Youth Centre
  • St Peters Town Hall Complex
  • Payneham Community Centre.

Drinking fountains and outdoor barbecues

All drinking fountains and outdoor barbecues located on all reserves are temporarily closed and unavailable.

 

Council events and exhibitions

Council events, exhibitions and library programs have been temporarily suspended with the intent of rescheduling some of these when and if possible.

This will be reviewed on a regular basis.
