Plans are well underway to transform the Payneham Memorial Swimming Centre into a state-of-the-art aquatic facility.

Work is expected to start in April 2023, with the new Centre reopening in 2024.

The Council has allocated a budget of $24 million to deliver the project, which includes a $5.6 million Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program contribution from the State Government.

The Payneham Memorial Swimming Centre Upgrade includes:

  • a new building with a kiosk and multiple change and function rooms
  • two indoor pools – a 25m pool and a learn to swim pool
  • 50m outdoor pool
  • two waterslides and outdoor waterplay area
  • shade structures, barbeques, outdoor furniture, landscaping and more.
