More than 100 business leaders and their guests have celebrated at the Council’s End of Year Business Networking Event at Art Images Gallery on The Parade.
Hosted by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, 49 businesses were represented at the event to mark the end of a very successful year for our City.
Mayor Robert Bria thanked all of the guests and acknowledged the contribution they have made to the local economy, revealing that our City was “bucking the economic trend” compared to other local areas, despite 13 interest rate rises and rising inflation.
Referring to Spendmapp data, Mayor Bria said consumer spending in our City between November 2022 and October 2023 was $1.68 billion – up more than 12 per cent – from $1.5 billion, which was recorded in the previous 12 months.
Mayor Bria also referred to a number of exciting projects earmarked for 2024 – including the AFL Gather Round which will be held in April, the Norwood Parade Masterplan, the Eastside Business Awards and a planned study to look into the Glynde and Stepney food manufacturing precincts.
A number of Mayor’s Business Commendation Awards were also presented to the following businesses for their longevity and contribution to the City:
Gilberts Accounting – 10+ Years Bronze Commendation
The Rising Sun Inn – 10+ Years Bronze Commendation
The Engraving Crew – 10+ Years Bronze Commendation
