Eastside Business Awards – shining a light on Adelaide’s East

16/02/2021

Following one of the toughest years for businesses and traders in the state’s history, the Eastside Business Awards provide the perfect platform for community recognition and support in 2021 and beyond.

The 4th annual Eastside Business Awards honour and recognise businesses and traders that have excelled in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters.

Mayor Robert Bria said the business community was under a cloud of uncertainty last year and it’s critical that we all work together to boost our local economy.

“That is why it is so important that we recognise outstanding and exceptional businesses and traders in our City,” he said.

“I encourage all business owners, traders, clients, customers and visitors to our City to get involved and shine a light on our business sector.”

The Awards – which are a partnership between Solstice Media and City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters – celebrate an array of businesses and sectors from emerging creative industries, successful start-ups and family owned enterprises to vibrant cafes and restaurants, iconic food manufacturers and retail precincts.

Solstice Media editor Jim Plouffe – who is on the Awards panel together with Mayor Bria – said he was looking forward to the calibre of entries.

“Although these businesses come in different shapes and sizes, and represent numerous industries, they all have one thing in common – loyal and passionate customers,” Mr Plouffe said.

The Award categories include: Best café, customer experience, fashion retailer, independent retailer, restaurant, entertainment venue, coffee, emerging start-up, pub or bar, food and beverage manufacturer r and hair or beauty salon. There is also a Hall of Fame Award for a business that has been operating in the area for more than 20 years.

Award winners receive $1,000 in digital advertising to be spent with Solstice Media and a choice of business advisory service (business planning, budget and forecasting or bookkeeping training) to the value of $1,000 with BIAS, while voters can win a $250 voucher for a business of their choice in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters.

Voting opens tomorrow and runs until March 18. Finalists will be named on 31 March, with the winners announced at an awards ceremony on 13 April and published on 14 April.
