Residents, workers, business owners and visitors in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters are encouraged to have their say on the City’s draft Tree Strategy 2022–2027.

The Council has committed to increasing the City’s tree canopy cover by 20% by 2045, including the planting of at least 500 trees per year over the next four years. The Tree Strategy will help to deliver on these targets.

The draft Tree Strategy provides a blueprint to guide the management, forward planning, planting and maintenance of all trees within the City, with a particular focus on street trees.

The overarching vision of the Strategy is to create a greener, cooler and more liveable City to enhance community well-being.

The draft Tree Strategy contains ten key strategies and thirty three actions organised under five strategic themes:

  • Identify and Manage
  • Protect and Value
  • Plan for Growth and Renewal
  • Maintain
  • Inspire and Influence.

If you have specific views on how you would like to see trees managed in the City, we invite you to review the strategy and submit your feedback below..
