Gerard has been drawing since he was 10 years old. He was inspired and influenced by the classic portraits by masters such as Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Matisse and Manet.

Combining his experience as a greeting card illustrator, training in the old masters’ techniques in oil painting he learned at Adelaide Central School of Art and a mentorship with commercial artist David Beevor, Gerard now works from his studio as a freelance artist in Adelaide, South Australia. He owns and manages Gallery leNuancier.
