Artist's Statement

Alice Hu is a Adelaide based artist, her works are often philosophy-based and works across mediums such as ceramics, painting, glass, tattoos and installation, she’s gained a unique aesthetic from her multicultural background and acculturation knowledge. Her work focus on concepts of multiculturalism, equality and freedom of choice.
Her works were presented in a number of group exhibitions, such as the Praxis art space, ‘ Kaleidoscope ’in 2021, with a group of ceramic works based on an over-sea residency experience sponsored by the Helpmann academy in 2019. This experience was a major inspiration that helped her complected her research degree which then leads her into a group exhibition at The Main Gallery, ‘BRIDGE’, exhibiting a series of ceramic works in the theme of acculturation, which is also the theme for the exhibition in 2023 at Hawk center, Kerry Packer Civic Gallery. In 2022, she worked on bigger works that is exhibited at Nexus arts, Pendulum, And in 2023 she is the residency artist in George street studio sponsored by Helpmann Academy, public artwork such as stobie poles now is in display, and also as a front area artist in The mill, working on various of projects.
