New parking trial to free up spaces and boost turnover

26/10/2021

The Council is undertaking a car parking turnover trial with the aim to free up spaces in one of the busiest car parks in Norwood.

The Council has partnered with eSMART 21 - an Adelaide based which specialises in IT and vehicle turnover.

The trial is an initiative that stems from the Council’s Smart City Plan.

Local business owner Gay Bawden, from J'adore Lingerie, said the initiative was most welcomed by traders and operators in the area as there has been on going parking issues.

The trial began on 1 October and will finish on 30 November and will take place in the Webbe St car park.  It works by using video and sensory detectors as opposed to compliance officers.
