The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters has welcomed the exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the Santos Tour Down Under.
Since the event was launched in 1999, the Santos Tour Down Under has delivered strong economic benefits to the South Australian communities and regions who host this iconic event.
Efex Stage 2 – Norwood to Lobethal, 141km: Wednesday 17 January
The Adelaide Hills will be on show in this exciting stage. It will finish with three 35-kilometre loops and three ascents of the Fox Creek Climb – a short but super-steep climb set to be a launchpad for multiple attacks.
Santos Tour Down Under Race Director, Stuart O’Grady:
This will be our 16th time starting in Norwood – a stage host loved for its warm welcome, cosmopolitan atmosphere and passionate fans, he said.
efex Stage 2 is sure to test the peloton and we know riders will be eager to make their mark across the undulating 146-kilometre route.
Temporary road closures
Temporary road closures will be in place for the official race.
The Council would like to thank local businesses, residents and visitors to the Parade in advance for their cooperation on the days of the event.
WEDNESDAY 17 JANUARY 2024 (from 5.30am - approx 3.00pm):
The Parade: from Osmond Terrace to Portrush Road;
Edward Street: from a point approximately 50 metres north of The Parade to the entrance of the Café Bravo car parks; and
George Street: from Webbe Street to a point approximately 50 metres south of The Parade.
Access to Cairns Street will be restricted with the closure of The Parade.
During the above road closures, west bound traffic and bus services will be diverted along Portrush Road, Magill Road and Osmond Terrace, back down The Parade, with the reverse for east bound traffic.
Parking
Due to road closures on the day, parking restrictions will be in place.
Please take note of the road closures listed above and make alternative parking arrangements.

During the road closures, west bound traffic and bus services will be diverted along Portrush Road, Magill Road and Osmond Terrace, back down The Parade, with the reverse for East bound traffic.
