Animal management is an important role for the Council.
Animal management not only includes working with citizens who own pets to ensure they are adopting responsible pet ownership practices, but also involves keeping the community informed about potential health and safety risks posed to and by animals.
Dog & Cat Management Plan
The Council’s 2019-2024 Dog & Cat Management Plan was approved by the Council on 12 September 2018, and will come into effect on 23 February 2019. The Council’s previous Urban Animal Management Plan 2012-2017 is also accessible until that time.
