RACE DAY 6 – SUNDAY 24 JANUARY

Men’s Stage 6 (10.40am start) & Women’s Stage 3 (12.10pm start) : Norwood to Stirling:136.2km

This final day of action demands commitment until the very last metre. We begin in cosmopolitan Norwood, just east of the city centre, where riders will roll out bound for the Adelaide Hills.

Norton Summit looms as an early test, followed by climbs through Ashton, Basket Range, Forest Range and Checker Hill. Birdwood, Mount Torrens, Lobethal, Woodside, Hahndorf and Mylor are set to welcome the peloton before a final lap through Stirling and one last push to the line.

Undulations across the route invite opportunists to strike – but it’s going to take real tenacity to get the job done.

“The Parade in Norwood is already buzzing on a Sunday morning and having the start of a stage for men and women will make for a really special occasion next year.

“It’s a difficult final stage, up Norton Summit, KOM/QOM points at the top of Ashton then through Lenswood, Cudlee Creek, Checker Hill, Birdwood and Lobethal, before a little respite from Woodside to Balhannah.

“But then it goes through Hahndorf, Echunga and Mylor before the final lap and a half where the race will be decided into Stirling.

“Stirling is absolutely magical. When the women were there in 2025 it was the biggest crowds we’d seen for the women’s race, and that woke us up to the fact that this is a super popular destination to finish the race in.

“There is a real grand final feel to it, there is plenty of shade and a lot of venues to enjoy while the race goes by.

“It’s one of our most beautiful towns and always puts on a fantastic show.”

- Race Director, Stuart O’Grady
