Ever spotted an interesting plant, bug or bird and wished you knew what it was? This hands-on beginners session will get you started with iNaturalist, the free app that helps you record and identify wildlife while contributing to real citizen science.

We'll cover:
- How to take clear, effective photos for -accurate identification
- Uploading your observations to the app
- How to join a project like the Great Southern Bioblitz
- How your sightings contribute to real biodiversity data

No experience needed, just bring a smartphone (fully charged!) and your curiosity. Whether you're into plants, insects, birds or fungi, this session will set you up to start exploring and recording the nature around you.

This session is timed perfectly to get you ready for the Great Southern Bioblitz, running from 27 to 30 November, where you can put your new skills to use recording local wildlife alongside citizen scientists across the Southern Hemisphere.
