Buttery Reserve Upgrade

The Buttery Reserve Upgrade will provide four new tennis courts and improved associated facilities, as well as new stormwater infrastructure.

Cost: $725,000

Buttery Reserve is set to become a recreational destination in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters with the upgrade of four tennis courts.

Upgrade works include:

  • four new tennis courts which comply with Tennis SA Standards and Guidelines
  • new tennis court lighting
  • new water fountain
  • new landscaping
  • 3.5 metre high perimeter court fencing with electronic booking system for public use
  • new stormwater infrastructure.


The Council endorsed the Buttery Reserve Upgrade in December 2019. Works commenced early November 2020 and are scheduled for completion in February 2021.

  • improved urban environment.

The Buttery Reserve Upgrade is funded by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and the Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure through the Open Space Grant Fund.

Project details

The Buttery Reserve upgrade will not only provide modern tennis court facilities for the community, together with the Norwood Tennis Club and East Adelaide Payneham Tennis Club, but will also increase the lifespan of these valuable community assets by at least 20 years.

The project is scheduled to be completed in February 2021, dependent on favourable weather conditions.
