The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters Library Service has two branches—St Peters Library and Payneham Library—where volunteers can assist. These are located in the suburbs of St Peters and Felixstow.

Library volunteers support staff in delivering services to library members across the Council area.

Important: All volunteer roles within our libraries require a current Working with Children Clearance and a National Police Clearance. Once you have submitted your application, our Volunteer Coordinator will organise these for you.

Home Library Delivery Service:

 

The Home Library Delivery Program provides information and recreational resources to residents who are housebound due to illness, disability or frailty. Clients include residents of aged care homes in the Council area. The provision of Home Library Services ensures equitable access to information and recreational resources to meet individual needs in the community. Under the supervision of the Home Library Services Coordinator, provide library items to immobile residents within the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters.

 

Home Library Selector:

The Home Library Delivery Program provides information and recreational resources to residents who are housebound due to illness, disability or frailty. Clients include residents of aged care homes in the Council area. The provision of Home Library Services ensures equitable access to information and recreational resources to meet individual needs in the community. Under the supervision of the Home Library Services Coordinator, select library items based on the client’s interests. Then organise these items to be delivered to them.

 

Library Assistance:

Library Services provides an important role in providing information, recreational and lifelong learning needs to the community.  The Library Processing Volunteer provides support and assistance to library staff and performs physical item processing tasks. The library assistance also helps with organisation of the books and shelves.

 

Digital Help:

Digital help volunteers assist residents with using technology, by having residents’ book in time slots to have help. The IT Helper provides support and assistance to residents/library visitors with their technology – phones, computers, tablets, etc.
