NPSP leads the way for local business with the launch of inaugural Parade gift card

In what is believed to be a South Australian first for an outdoor shopping precinct, the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters has launched its very first gift card for Adelaide’s premier main street, The Parade, Norwood.

Endorsed by the Norwood Parade Precinct Committee, the concept was created by the Council in order to help boost the local economy.

The cards can be “loaded” with between $10 and $1000 and can be used at any business within The Parade Precinct.

Mayor Robert Bria, who is also the Chair of the Committee, said recipients of a Parade Gift Card are not only helping businesses, but are also spoilt for choice.

“From stunning fashion, unique interiors and world-class dining, The Parade offers the ultimate shopping experience,” Mayor Bria said.

“If you can’t decide on a present, The Parade Gift Card is perfect – for even the fussiest friends or family members.

“The Parade Gift Card is part of a package of measures the Council has delivered to help boost the local economy so far this year.”

In June, the Council launched Eastside Design for Living – a stunning homewares and interior publication - featuring 47 local businesses.

“This too was a South Australian first which demonstrates that we are continually striving to think outside the box when it comes to promoting our local businesses.

“Earlier this year, in order to kick-start the hospitality industry following COVID-19 density restrictions, The Parade developed Taste of the Parade vouchers.”

The Taste of The Parade vouchers, valued at $25 each, were available to the public via a registration process – with 46 businesses being nominated by voucher recipients.

“Prior to that, the Council engineered the Win a FIAT 500 competition, with entries resulting in a direct expenditure of more than $514,000 at 196 different businesses within The Parade Precinct.
