2023 Eastside Business Awards – shining a light on business excellence in Adelaide’s East

16/02/2023

The Eastside Business Awards are once again offering business and operators in the eastern suburbs the opportunity to be recognised, and from today nominations are officially open.

Mayor Robert Bria said the Awards – which are hosted by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters - are a great way to recognise the great service and a memorable retail experience offered by traders in Adelaide’s East.

“The Awards celebrate businesses and sectors from emerging creative industries, successful start-ups and family-owned enterprises to vibrant cafes and restaurants, arts and entertainment, iconic food manufacturers and retail precincts,” Mayor Bria said.

“Importantly, the Awards are an excellent way to learn more about some businesses which have been in our City for more than 20 years.”

Last year, the increasingly celebrated Awards attracted a record 10,974 public votes across 11 different categories, with both new and familiar businesses taking home the coveted honours.

The 2019 Hall of Fame winner, Annie Lovejoy from Outdoors on Parade - which celebrates its 40th birthday in April this year - said the event provided a great amount of exposure.

“People were just thrilled about and it really is a fantastic initiative and it certainly creates conversation,” Annie said.

Annie is no stranger to competition on the world stage, with Outdoors on Parade winning a national competition and going on to become a finalist in the overall global event, which was held in Chicago in 2010.

Outdoors on Parade is once again vying for an Eastside Business Award and with the addition of its popular coffee shop it has doubled its chances.

Mayor Bria said: “Whether you’re a resident, employee, shopper, trader or visitor we encourage you to nominate a local business or businesses you think deserves to be recognised and celebrated in 2023.

Those crowned the best of the east will win a $1,000 advertising package with Solstice Media and a choice of business advisory services to the value of $1,000 with AFM Services.

Voting opens today and closes 5pm on 16 March. Finalists will be announced on 29 March, with an Awards Ceremony on 19 April.
