Echo Hair & Beauty arrives on The Parade

Posted

01/08/2023

Step into Echo Hair & Beauty’s new Parade location, and one of the first things you’ll notice is the overwhelmingly inclusive environment. “We’ve got staff from Japan, Iran, Vietnam, India and Australia,” says senior stylist and co-owner Naini Aneja. “And having such a multicultural salon means that everyone brings something different to the table.”

After studying makeup and hair at TAFE, Aneja spent years working at a variety of locations around Adelaide before opening her own salon in Kent Town in 2015. While there, she built a loyal clientele that helped Echo Hair & Beauty accumulate more than 600 five star reviews and she puts that overwhelmingly positive response down to an emphasis on looking after both her customers and employees.

“I wanted to build a business where customers could have the very best experience,” she explains, “but at the same time create a fun and friendly environment for our staff to showcase their skills.” To that end, fortnightly training sessions help the stylists to keep their skills sharp and stay on top of the latest trends.

As the business grew, Aneja realised that she would need to move from the original location to a larger space that could accommodate an ultramodern unisex salon. And with many of her clients stopping on The Parade to shop before or after their appointments, Echo’s new site with ample parking spaces on the corner of The Parade and Osmond Terrace was a perfect fit.

The new, expanded salon opened in March and features seven hair stations and two beauty stations, as well as a private room upstairs with two beauty beds and another beauty station. And for most clients, the experience begins before they reach any of those stations thanks to four lounges where they can enjoy a head massage or Indian hand massage while having their hair washed.

Echo also offers keratin smoothing treatments, a range of facials and beauty services like threading, tinting and waxing. The half hour express facial has proved especially popular with clients looking to relax a little in between shopping, because “who doesn’t want to feel pampered for 30 minutes?”

And when the treatments are finished, Echo works with a range of brands including Kevin.Murphy, Keune and AS80  – “everything from affordable products to more premium ranges” – which means that Aneja and her team can help clients find the best way to look after their hair and skin between visits. “Our goal is for our clients to look good when they walk out the door,” she says, “but we want to give them the proper haircare and skin care so they look good for a long time after that as well.”
