Ageing Well: Know Your Rights - ARAS Talks

Join us for a four-part information series designed to help older people better understand their rights, choices and protections in aged care. Delivered in partnership with the Aged Rights Advocacy Service (ARAS), these sessions provide practical information and guidance to support ageing well with confidence and dignity.
Each session includes opportunities to ask questions in a supportive and welcoming environment. Attend one session or join the full series to stay informed and build confidence in navigating aged care and related services.
Please note: each session will include a brief overview of the role of ARAS, advocacy services and the Statement of Aged Care Rights for those attending individual sessions.
Session dates and topics:
Thursday 12 June – Session 1: Know Your Rights
Learn about your Aged Care Rights, the role of advocacy, and how to recognise and respond to elder abuse.
Thursday 19 June – Session 2: Understanding Aged Care Fees
Unsure about aged care costs? Discover your financial rights, care plan options, and where to get trusted advice.
Thursday 26 June – Session 3: Protect Yourself from Abuse & Scams
Recognise the signs of elder abuse, financial abuse, and common scams targeting older people.
Thursday 3 July – Session 4: Rights and Safeguards for Ageing Well
Explore human rights, advocacy, and protections that support safe, respectful ageing.
