The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters Library Service has two branches—St Peters Library and Payneham Library—where volunteers can assist. These are located in the suburbs of St Peters and Felixstow.
Library volunteers support staff in delivering services to library members across the Council area.
For more information about the Council’s library services visit: Our Libraries
Important: All volunteer roles within our libraries require a current Working with Children Clearance and a National Police Clearance. Once you have submitted your application, our Volunteer Coordinator will organise these for you.
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters has three core programs for children and youth in the community: Story Time, Bouncing Babies and Holiday Programs.
- Story Time: offered for children aged 2 – 5 years and their parents and/or caregivers to provide an opportunity to participate in and share stories, crafts, activities and introduction to literacy
- Bouncing Babies: offered for babies aged 0 – 2 years and parents and/or caregivers to provide an opportunity to participate in and share nursery rhymes, songs, sensory play and action rhymes
- Holiday Programs: run during the school holidays for children and youth aged 3-18 years. A range of activities are offered to promote creativity, inspiration and participation.
The Children & Youth Programs Volunteer assists with the preparation and delivery of activities for Story Time, Bouncing Babies and Holiday Programs for Children and Youth.
