More information

About the Plan

Under the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995 (SA), all councils are required to have a plan relating to the management of dogs and cats in their area. The Plan must cover a five-year period and be approved by the Dog and Cat Management Board.

Appendix 1 to the Plan contains a map showing the Council’s eleven Dog Off-Leash Areas.

In response to community feedback to make off-leash times more consistent across these Areas, all Off-Leash Areas with restricted off-leash times have been amended to commence at 5.00pm (excluding those Parks with specific Summer times). See Appendix 1 for details.

Recent changes to the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995 (SA), in relation to registration, microchipping and de-sexing of dogs and cats, came into effect on 1 July 2018 and are also incorporated in the draft Plan.
