Revised Waste Management Policy

The Council has adopted a new Waste Management Policy which aims to minimise the amount of waste going to landfill and maximise recycling and composting of kitchen and garden organics.

For residential properties, beyond the initial set of three bins (landfill, recycling and green organics) which are provided by the Council, households are able to purchase an annual permit (cost of $90) for one additional recycling bin and/or one additional green organics bin.

The Waste Management Policy also provides for a non-standard collection service to be applied for by multi-unit developments.

Commercial properties and community and not-for-profit organisations will also be entitled to apply for an annual additional recycling and/or green organics bin permit, beyond the standard set of three bins provided to these properties.
