Did you know you should never place batteries in kerbside bins?
All types of batteries have the potential to start fires in the waste collection truck, at the recycling facility and in landfill.
Even when a battery is “dead”it still has enough power stored within it to create a spark if it comes into contact with metal objects, are damaged or overheats.
The Council offers free recycling drop off at its Glynde Depot, Norwood Townhall, or at any of its three Libraries.
To find out more and your nearest drop off location, visit: B-cycle - Battery Recycling
