Access to Council information
Under the Freedom of Information Act 1991, you have a legal right to request access to documents held by the Council, subject to certain exemptions and restrictions.

Make an FOI request
If the information you are looking for is not publicly available, you can make a formal FOI request to the Council through the Council’s Freedom of Information Officer.
Your application should:
- state that you are making a request under the Freedom of Information Act 1991
- clearly describe the documents or information you are seeking
- include your name and Australian postal address
- state whether the documents relate to your personal affairs
- indicate how you would like to access the documents, such as by inspection or receiving copies.
If the Council holds information about you that is incomplete, incorrect, misleading or out of date, you can apply to have the information amended under the Freedom of Information Act 1991.

Fees and charges
An application fee applies, and there may be an additional processing charge that also applies depending on the nature of the FOI request.
There is no fee to apply to amend your personal information.
Fees are set by the South Australian Government.
