Opportunity to lead tree management in a City renowned for its urban trees and landscapes.
The Council is seeking an experienced arborist to manage the City’s 30,000 urban trees.
The key focus of this position is on implementing the Council’s tree policies and ensuring sustainable tree management within the City. You will be required to work closely with our City Services staff to develop and monitor the tree planting and maintenance programs and will lead the development of appropriate standards and framework ensuring best outcomes.
You will bring to the position professional and strong industry knowledge of tree management, native vegetation, biodiversity and arboriculture principles and practices. You will have demonstrated industry experience in investigating, planning and implementing sustainable tree management solutions. Your ability to prepare reports, team orientated approach and ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders will be essential to your success in this position. Experience in arboriculture services and management in Local Government will be highly regarded but is not essential.
A Diploma in Arboriculture is essential.
