Role Description

Three (3) year Fixed Term Contract.
Available on a full-time or part-time basis (0.8 FTE or above) for the right candidate.
Annual Salary between $91,000 - $106,000 + Statutory Superannuation
The Role
This integral role contributes towards developing effective traffic management solutions for the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters to create a connected, accessible and pedestrian-friendly community.
As the Traffic Engineer / Officer, you will prepare concept plans, assess development applications, maintain and analyse the traffic database and work closely with the community to investigate, report and respond to traffic and movement-related concerns.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated professional with a passion for providing traffic management solutions.
You will have knowledge about the technical aspects relating to traffic management, road safety, sustainable transport modes and parking improvements and possess the following skills and experience.
• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in traffic & transport management, investigation, analysis and design
• Experience in the development of concept designs of traffic management solutions that meet Australian Standards and Guidelines
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Experience in addressing challenging situations, diverse people and interests and resolving complex problems
• Ability to work independently within a high-performance team
• A current drivers license (Essential)
Depending on your past experience and skills, this role can be tailored to suit the right candidate.
Knowledge and experience in Local Government will be beneficial to your success in this role.
