The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is an inner eastern metropolitan Council, nestled on the outskirts of the CBD. The area enjoys a reputation as one of Adelaide’s most desirable places to live, work, study and visit.
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is seeking an experienced Financial Business Partner to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Finance Unit, this role will support the ongoing improvement of financial processes and provide vital financial insights to departments across the organisation.
The Role
The Finance Business Partner reports to the Council’s Chief Financial Officer and works within the Finance Unit and across the organisation, to deliver strategic financial outcomes associated with the Council’s financial management and budget. The Finance Business Partner is responsible for providing high-quality financial advice, financial modelling, accounting services, financial business improvements and support across the organisation.
The Finance Business Partner provides a conduit between the Finance Unit and the organisation and is responsible for partnering with the Council’s Business Units to deliver strategies and goals related to financial performance.
About You
To be successful in this position you will be an individual with a strong analytical skillset and possess the following skills and experience:
• Tertiary Qualification in Finance, Accounting (Essential)
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience working in a Finance/Accounting position
• Ability to deliver high-quality timely and accurate financial analysis, advice, support, monitoring and reporting.
• Ability to provide a financial business partnering service and contribute to financial planning, business planning and annual budget for the organisation’s Business Units.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and work with business units to implement financial improvements.
• High level of user knowledge in Excel, Word.
• Knowledge in Power Bi (Desirable).
• Knowledge of Local Government Business Practices and Commercial Business practices (Desirable)
