Annual salary of $89,121.01 - $101,761.94 + Statutory Superannuation
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is an inner eastern metropolitan Council, nestled on the outskirts of the CBD. The area enjoys a reputation as one of Adelaide’s most desirable places to live, work, study and visit.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Traffic Engineer to positively contribute to Council’s traffic management solutions that improves safety for all road users.
The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Traffic & Integrated Transport, the Traffic Engineer will be responsible for assisting to implement the Council’s On-Street Parking Policy, encouraging sustainable transport modes and liaising with staff and stakeholders to improve neighbourhood liveability, with the provision of timely and accurate traffic engineering advice.
About You
To be successful in this position you will be an effective communicator who possess the following skills and experience:
• A relevant qualification or experience in traffic and transport management, investigation, analysis and design.
• Ability to assess planning and building developments in relation to traffic, parking and access requirements.
• Experience in addressing challenging situations, diverse people and interests, and resolving complex problems.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to adapt styles for different stakeholder groups, including citizens, other staff and State Government bodies.
• Ability to develop concept designs of traffic management solutions using effective data analysis.
• Knowledge of traffic related legislation, standards, guidelines, codes of practices in South Australia.
• Ability to use AutoCad, Auto Turn, GIS, and Microsoft software.
• Recent tertiary graduates with appropriate qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
