This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our City Assets Unit and contribute towards creating a vibrant community through the ongoing improvement and development of our City’s strategic civil infrastructure projects.
This position will play a key role in the delivery of the following significant landmark projects in the Adelaide Urban environment:
• The multi-million-dollar Trinity Valley Drainage Upgrade Project; including
o Overland flow interception and trunk drainage capacity upgrades
o Underground storage tank detention
o Reserve and recreation asset redevelopment
• Significant and high-profile Streetscape & Drainage upgrades
The Role
Reporting to the Manager, City Assets, the Project Manager, Civil is responsible for the development and delivery of the Council’s key Civil Projects. This will involve:
• Overseeing and managing the development and delivery of the Council’s Annual Civil Infrastructure Capital Works Program
• Managing the delivery of the annual Drainage Program and various civil infrastructure projects including designs and on-ground works
• Developing all relevant contract specifications and documentation
• Undertaking tender processes and assessments
• Managing the contracts for all projects involving the Council’s civil infrastructure and drainage assets
• Developing and monitoring annual budgets for projects and providing reports
• Providing technical advice regarding stormwater management, finished floor levels and entranceways
About You
To be successful in this role you will be a pro-active team player who takes pride in the work you do and possess the following skills and experience:
• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a similar discipline (Desirable)
• Relevant experience in the management of civil infrastructure and drainage works programs and projects
• Excellent knowledge in the development and delivery of civil infrastructure and drainage works programs and projects
• Experience with project management and contract management
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve, plan, direct, control and evaluate projects
• Demonstrated experience with procurement, budgeting and financial management
• Strong ability to monitor work outcomes
• Excellent communication skills, service skills and stakeholder engagement
• Current Driver’s license (essential)
