The Council provides transport for eligible citizens to and from local shopping centres and social programs.
Transport services are available for frail older people or adults living with disabilities, who are unable to drive and have difficulty accessing public transport.
These services are supported by a dedicated team of Council volunteers who pride themselves on providing a friendly and professional service.
Please note: There may be waiting lists for some of our community transport services.
Transport services
Community bus
Weekly transport to and from local shopping centres and various social programs.
The community bus is equipped with disability access.
Community groups are welcome to hire the community bus (subject to availability) during the week.
Cost: $1.50 each way ($3.00 return)

Community car
Transport to and from local shopping centres and escorted shopping service.
A community car service is available to residents who do not have the physical capacity to use the community bus.
The service provides fortnightly transport to and from local shopping centres. An escorted shopping service is available for those residents who require assistance in the supermarket.
If a resident is unable to do their own shopping, a shopping list service is available, where one of the Council's Community Care Officers will complete a pre-prepared shopping list for the resident. To find out more about this service visit our Help at Home page.
Cost:
Transport to and from shopping centres: $3.00 each way ($6.00 return).
Escorted shopping: $8.00 per service.

Red Cross transport services (non-Council service)
Red Cross provides a door to door transport service to assist you to attend non-urgent medical appointments and social outings if you have no other transport options.
Is this service for you
This service is for people who are elderly or have a disability and have no means of transport to non-urgent medical appointments or social outings.
About the service
A Red Cross volunteer will collect you from your home and drive you to your appointment. For further details about how the service works in your state as well as the specific locations where the service is provided contact your local Red Cross office.
